Ant-Man ending and post-credits scene

July 20th, 2015
If you haven't seen Ant-Man and don't want anything ruined then stop reading here because SPOILERS ABOUND from here on out. I'll be honest, before seeing Ant-Man I had heard about the post-credit scene, and since seeing it myself I looked online to read other's opinions and all I have to say All the running theories I found say Winter Soldier has his armed trapped in "a wall" or "giant device" and imply Cap and Falcon captured him. That's not what I saw at all. First off, his other arm is completely free, actually he looks to be sitting kind of comfortably (with a slightly frustrated look) with the free arm propped… Read More

New personal high combo

March 17th, 2014
My new high combo with Spinal, 73-hit ultra that I pulled off in an online ranked match.

I've always tried to be well rounded with the characters of a fighting game. Obviously there are some that (I feel) are better than others, but you still need to know how they ALL work, all of their mechanics, in order to defend against them effectively. In the case of Mortal Kombat II this gave me the additional advantage of actually being able to… Read More

Playing with Xbox One uploads

December 27th, 2013
I've been playing around with the Xbox One's gameplay DVR functions and uploaded a video to view online. This is my first attempt to embed video onto a site...

That was my very first online match of Killer Instinct, I'm the blue Jago. I guess some old skills really do stick with you through life. Read More

Andy Thomas, rest well friend

September 16th, 2013
After a week-long fight in the hospital one of the best men I've ever known passed away. He leaves behind a wife, two daughters, and an army of people on both sides of the Atlantic that he's touched with his strong kindness and voracious sense of humor.
During the past week I've been thinking about Andy (or Drew, or Sabian, or Lunchbox) at great length. I met him our freshman year of high school, and though he tells the story better than I do I'm going to give it a shot. We went to different middle schools and I was essentially invited into his circle of friends to play, what they called, War Games. It was explained to me through… Read More

Lego series 7 post updated

May 13th, 2012
We went back to Toys R Us and picked up some more minifigs. We were able to positively identify 2 more Computer Programmers, a Bunny Suit Guy and a Jungle Boy. I've updated the post with the parts to look for.   Still trying to nab a Galaxy Patrol, I think that one's going to be just chance. Read More

Lego series 7 minifigures

April 30th, 2012

It was only a couple of weeks ago when I was at the store buying Lego series 6 minifigs for Easter baskets...ok ok and for myself too. So you can imagine my shock when my wife and were out this weekend and found nothing but empty series 6 displays. Pretty upsetting since I never did land a Minotaur (but one of our sons has one). We hit two different Targets, Barnes & Noble and almost Wal-Mart too. She suggested making a last ditch attempt at Toys R Us and I scoffed at her. For one, every time we've… Read More

SWTOR one month later

February 23rd, 2012
I just got billed for my Star Wars The Old Republic subscription, which means I've played through my 30-day free trial. I have a level 50 Sith Sorcerer and I'm putzing around with a teens-level Trooper on the Republic side. Overall its a great game, it has all the hooks I want in a game that I'd be willing to buy a 6 month subscription to (which I did to get the lower monthly prorate), but there are some fundamentals that are broken.     PvP should not be forced on a PvE server - I love that I can alter my character's appearance, via my choice in gear, without the negatives of the gear I like being not as powerful as… Read More

No PAX East 2012 for me

December 4th, 2011
I've had the pleasure of not only attending but Enforcing both annual PAX East conventions that have been held thus far. Karli and I have absolutely loved going to Boston each year. Its a great weekend getaway for us, and the things we've seen and the people we've met have been awesome. Unfortunately the next PAX East is the weekend of April 6-8, 2012, also known as Easter weekend. I'm not going to begin to even try to understand all of the scheduling and logisitcal work that happens behind-the-scenes when it comes to picking dates for something as massive as a PAX. Even in their own words… Read More

Nerdhatch archive: Beer Knights 2007

November 20th, 2011
And the train keeps rolling on, next extraction from the memories of the old site is the last Beer Knight thread (July 2006-February 2007). After this post most everything moved over to the actual Beer Knight website. As always, enjoy and remember to tip your waiters.   Josh - Lets get this going!   Jeremy - I think if anything this year should teach us that all the planning in the world cannot compete with a lack in execution.   Chris - That is the smartest thing anyone has ever said about anything. That being said, here are my suggestions for next… Read More
